Intelligent Distribution Sensor 4000

IDS 4000

CURRENT’s IDS 4000 provides real-time remote fault detection and location for overhead and underground distribution networks. It reports ground faults, sensitive earth faults, and logs sub-cycle transient events. The IDS 4000 provides full monitoring and reporting of feeder voltage, current and power conditions, with no minimum operating current and requires no calibration.

High accuracy fault detection is performed based on sub-cycle signal analysis and digital signal processing for a wide range of distribution networks to detect phase-phase and phase-ground faults. Sensitive earth fault (SEF) conditions, normally only reported by system protection equipment, are detected through analysis of zero sequence currents.  Faster response reduces outage time and lost customer minutes, and improves in key performance indices. Segment-by-segment load monitoring and load profiles enable Distribution Engineers or automated FLISR applications to perform temporary switching operations around faulted segments with full awareness of feeder conditions. The IDS 4000 complies with industry standards and meets all safety requirements.
